Jaisalmer Fort

Jaisalmer fort, one of the world's largest, includes a museum, stores, restaurants, residential accommodations, hotels, and so on. The fort has 99 bastions, 92 of which were constructed between 1633 and 1647. The combination of Islamic and Rajput architecture is visible.

Gadsisar Lake

Gadsisar Lake was a water conversation tank erected around 1400 AD. If a visitor to Jaisalmer wishes to go bird watching, Gadsisar Lake is the place to go. The lake never dries out since it is fed by the Indira Gandhi Canal.
 

Vyas Chhatri

The cenotaphs here are the most fabulous structures in Jaisalmer, and one of its major tourist attractions. Dedicated to Sage Vyas, who wrote the epic poem Mahabharata, Vyas Chhatri has beautiful memorials, and is a cremation ground for Brahmins.

Bada Bagh

The cenotaphs have beautifully carved chhatris, with exquisite chiseled pillars and inscriptions made on yellow sandstone. The landscape garden besides Bada Bagh is soothing to the eyes, and provides a green touch to the entire region.

Patwon ki Haveli

Jaisalmer’s second most popular spot after the Jaisalmer Fort is Patwon Ki Haveli, which is not just a single building, but a combination of five different Havelis, each with a distinct quality of its own.

Nathmal ki Haveli

Nathmal Ji Ki Haveli's stunning architecture speaks for itself. The construction of this house began simultaneously from two sites. Elephant sculptures on yellow stones, as well as beautifully carved exteriors and interiors, may be found.

Salim Singh ki Haveli

This home is well-known for its unique construction, which has 38 beautifully sculpted balconies. This mansion's architecture was inspired by a dancing peacock. The stones of this home are held together with strong iron rods rather than cements and plaster.

Jain Temples

Seven Jain temples with outstanding structural features are located near the Jaisalmer fort. From the ceilings to the tombs to the entrances, every element of this temple is embellished with mirrors, frescoes, sculptures, and other items devoted to numerous Jain Tirthankars (Hermits).

Sam Sand Dunes

Deepawali : Very important in Jaisalmer, the city wears a cape of light and follows traditional rituals and food preparations worshipping Goddess Laxmi and Lord Ganesha.

Teej : Akin to Gangaur, where ladies worship Goddess Parvati and pray for the well-being of their husbands. Ladies adorn themselves with jewellery and dress up. They assemble in one place to worship the deity. Swinging females welcome 'Saawan.' The sweets for this occasion are 'Ghevar' and 'Pheeni.'
